about

This EP is a journal entry. One that described feelings and moods that I've had lately in my life. While making this album, each song was also an individual attempt at something different.

"It Keeps Happening" was actually a beat I made for someone else to rap on, but it quickly turned out to be one of the best beats I had made, so I stuck it on this album as well.

"The Feeling" is one of the first songs made on my OP-1 synth. The bass is from my Novation Mininova, but the majority of sounds comes from my OP-1 whether recorded into Ableton Live or ripped straight from the OP-1.

"WE OWN THESE STREETS" was inspired by Nigerian Funk. Specifically, this mixtape: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tk7e04pZ5gI. I was also inspired by the Jet Set Radio soundtrack and decided to incorporate some of that inspiration in the song. In the end I captured the exact mood I was going for. I used a lot of royalty free samples, loops, and stock sounds from Ableton to make it, so it's nice to finally utilize something meant to be used that is just laying around on my computer.

"Nashville" is a song I made exclusively on Nanoloop for Android while I was riding in a car into Nashville, TN. I wanted to see how far I could take a limited app and make a song with it.

"Get To It (Blue Ice Cave Theme)" was actually a track I made last second. It replaced an slightly extended version of my past song "Lounge For Robots" and a loop (not really a song) I made called "Test Yourself (Pink Ice Cave Loop)". I didn't think they were professional enough for my taste so I decided to sit down one night and get to business on a track to replace both, and in my opinion, I succeeded.

"What Now?" was an attempt at multiple things, inspired by the likes of Tycho and "Deep Cover" by Sun Araw. At the end of the song I sampled the song itself and flipped it on it's head.

Shoutouts to AJ Holmes for his photography work for the album cover and it's promotional material. Without his help this idea wouldn't be the same.

Enjoy the EP.
